maria lukach ja meloodia bimbo

Maria Lukach - Melody "Bimbo" 1976

niisiis üks päev oli ühes kohas (kes teab, see teab) tekkinud käputäis täiesti kasutama koopiaid ühest plaadist, täiesti tundmatult artistilt. uudishimu oli suur ja üks tuli ära osta. suvaline estraad üldiselt, aga siis oli see groovy lugu. hiljem olen ma näinud, et el bimbo on päris mitmel ida-euroopa plaadil ja on üpris ebakuulatav lugu. see on minu arust päris kena. noh ma olen neid rohkemgi nüüd koju tassinud. kui mõnd mu sõpra huvitab, siis andku teada, ma kingin ära.

one day my local spot had stack of minty 7" records by unknown singer. doesn't it look suspicious? i had to buy just to find out what is it. it's still mystery, but i found this groovy version of "el bimbo". it's featured on many eastern european records, but this one is actually quite ok listen.

Mescherin ja saksa polka

v. mescherin' electromusical instruments orchestra - german polka 1964

lugege unustamatu härra kohta allpool viidatud artiklist. "the group scored its first hit in 1961 with a remake of an Estonian folk tune. The band gave the song a Marxist makeover, calling it "On the Collective Poultry Farm." An irresistibly grating polka melody bracketed by what can only be described as two robotic chicken squawks, the song is better known to Russians as the score to the popular farmer-vs.-fox cartoon, Nu Pogodi!" super!

very informative article on Mescherin

hi! i'm martin from estonia. i don't have much to say about those records anyway, even in estonian, so i try to keep my bad english minimum. also i don't have the definitive collection of melodiya records, i'm missing most of the well-known rares. i started this blog to amuse some local nerds and to rise their interest in melodiya records and its endless possibilities. i'll present more obscure genres than basic rock or pop, more groovier stuff including rock and pop.
i don't understand russian myself, but i know the alphabet and few words, which is always helpful for deciphering these records. sorry for bad quality of recordings.
