leedu disko

Janina Miščiukaitė - Estradinės dainos 7"
Melodiya C62-15565-6

sorry for long silence. let me continue with disco for a while. i present you piece of lithuanian discofunk. it's original track, though i had bought this 7" because of G. Moroder cover on it. even if it is crap, but this song is nice, only good song on that ep. i bought it 6 years ago from my favorite record spot in Tartu, though they reduced their record section. how i would like to go back there in it's glory days, with knowledge and experience i have today.

I'm interesting, maybe Kuprevicus (ARGO's leader) has some relation to this recording? Because I do know only disco music made in Lithuania...

i'm sorry i didn't write more about this record. this record is written by M. Tamošiunas, he is also "art director" of this record. he was behind two lithuanian dance music records that i have already introduced here, he was in Oktava. so no relation to Argo, i guess.

tomorrow i'll put up other disco-funk tracks from Lithuania, by Lithuanian group Nerija from their 1981 release. they have quite good albums, i like their 1976 LP with one great psychpop track. i'll post it in summer too.

You mentioned that on this EP:

That there was a cover version of a Moroder track...I know you said it was crap but I wonder which Moroder track was it?

As someone from England, I have been discovering the wonderful world of Eastern European & USSR music from the 70s and 80s, especially disco, prog and electronic music. I love how each country added their own ''flavour' to the then western musical genres, it makes the music sound far fresher to my ears than many western records of the 70s & 80s.

It is blogs like yours that has given me an education and though the language barrier can be difficult, I appreciate you also providing an English translation to your posts.

thank you for your comment! great you found way to my blog, and that's my reason to continue blogging.

i'm sorry i didn't answer, i somehow remembered you wanted me to post clip of it, and i just had time to record it. i could have said track title earlier...

it's cover of "I Remember Yesterday" by Donna Summer!
